Born Entrepreneurs, Born Leaders

Born Entrepreneurs, Born Leaders

This is a book based on probably the greatest debate of all times. How much of our behaviour is determined by genes and how much is determined by the environment? Clearly, there is no straightforward answer to this question. Many experiments have been conducted to resolve this issue but no large consensus exists.

Of course, the book’s intention is not to find a simple answer to this very important question. The book’s focus is only on the entrepreneurs and if there is some correlation between the greatest entrepreneurs of all the time. The problem here has to do also with the concept of time. So, we go back to the book “The Paradox of Time”. The problem lies because we view the past from the present. So, now that we know that someone has become a great entrepreneur we see his past with another eye. It’s like we could infer since his beginnings that he would become a great mind. However, I believe that this is not the case at all. I think that due to different circumstances he may have reached greatness. And then we try to prove ourselves that he was great even when he was a kid for example.

Related to the more general concept of genetics, I see a paradox there. There is a general agreement that genetics is far more important than the environment. So if we change or evolve it’s because our genes make us evolve. However, they take the stimulus from the environment. So, the possibility of change has always been in our genes. For the fact that we evolve in a particular time credit can be given completely to the environment. So, that makes the environment much more important, at least in my opinion.

Borrowing Brilliance

Borrowing Brilliance

“Borrowing Brilliance” from Dave Murray is based on one simple idea. Basically, everything that we do or think happens because we see others do or think the same. During our lives of course we may do something different from the others but it is almost always a slight variation from the original. Of course, the book focuses mainly on the business life but its basic concept is pretty clear.

We talk because others do it; play games because the others taught us, we even go on living because we see others do it. So, basically there is no original idea.

In relation to business life, the concept is even clearer. To succeed we need to innovate, and to innovate we need to borrow ideas from other fields and to apply them in our own field. One perfect example of this is financial innovations. It is basically the same concept that is transmuted into different forms. This is especially true for options where there exist a lot of kinds like: European options, American, Bermudan, Barrier, Exotic or Vanilla options.

Little Bets

Little Bets

“Little Bets” is an interesting book written by Peter Sims. He explains how many breakthrough ideas have emerged from small discoveries. So, basically it is a historical book which gives some examples of these discoveries. The part that is not really clear about this book is how we are to cause these small discoveries to happen in the first place. He gives some examples of new forms of working as in Google where the workers are involved in many areas but there is not a clear concept.

The concept of innovation has been debated for a long time, especially the ways to achieve innovation. According to Adam Smith innovation comes mainly from specialization. So according to this view, in any company the more people specialize in simple operations of the production process the greater is the possibility that they will bring innovation. Nowadays this idea has changed. Workers should move also to other working areas in order to take and give new insights in areas not very familiar to them.

Personally, I am totally against specialization. I believe that the capitalist class is the one class that favours this specialization. By specializing in simple operations we become like robots that think only about specific tasks and lose track of the main picture. However, we should question the system itself and not take for granted that we have the best system and consequently try to make it work smoothly.

The Time Paradox

The Time Paradox

The Time Paradox was probably the best book that we discussed in this class. It gave me new insights on the concept of time. I had never defined myself in anyway but I found a way from this book. I consider myself past-positive and present-fatalistic. I don’t see any future at all. So from this book it seems like I’m the worst possible combination ever.

I also enjoyed the concept of time related to financial markets. The expression “The only better time to start investing was yesterday” is one of my favourites. It is undoubtedly true that you cannot predict financial markets, especially the stock market. So you should not wait for the right time to start investing because there is no such right time. You should start investing as soon as possible in order to enjoy the gains of your investment as soon as possible.

The book also emphasizes paying attention to every decision that we make in the present, no matter how trivial it may seem. They say that “When a butterfly flaps its wings in one part of the world it can cause a hurricane in another part of the world”. I totally agree with this. Some seemingly unimportant decisions may have great repercussions in our life. The problem is that if we give a lot of thought to the concept of time we tend to become unhappy in our lives. This happens because the passing of time reminds us constantly of our death and so it may become a kind of obsession.

To conclude, time is a very delicate concept to think about. We have to use time in a productive way but we should be careful not to be obsessed with it, otherwise it may cause us to be unhappy during our lives.

The How of Happiness

The How of Happiness

To tell the truth I was very skeptical about this book. Or to put it more clearly, I’m always skeptical about books that begin with how to be happy, reach, successful and stuff like this. And after taking a look at the book now I am even more skeptical. The statistics seem very questionable. The definitions seem even more questionable. Even the term in the title, i.e. happiness is probably one of the most difficult words to be defined.

If we take the book’s statistics for granted we can see that genetics is the most important determinant of happiness. Contrary to what most of the people think, life circumstances determine only ten percent of our happiness. The other determinant is intentional activities. So we cannot do anything about our genetics. However, we can change our happiness level if we do some intentional activities like: expressing gratitude, avoid over thinking, be grateful for what we have etc.

I believe that two are the most important factors that render us unhappy. The first is fear of death. I think that all of our phobias are related in some way to the fear of death. Claustrophobia, acrophobia, enochlophobia are al related to the fear of death. So in order to keep our minds distracted from that fear we engage in many activities. We need to lose ourselves either in drinking, working, our families just to take our minds off the inevitable thing that is going to come.

The second reason for unhappiness is comparison. Every time we compare ourselves with others we tend to become unhappy because people have the tendency to compare themselves with the people that are better than them. Where we were under the communism regime, I believe that Albanian people were a lot happier than nowadays because they were unaware of the huge differences of wealth that exist in the capitalism regime.

So if we can find some cure for these two factors I think that all of us will be happier than they already are.

What is Mine is Yours

What is mine is yours

“What is mine is yours” is an interesting book written by Rachel Botsman and Roo Rogers. Their ideas are not new though. They are basically modern applications of the original concept of utilitarianism firstly developed by Jeremy Bentham. Even though I am a huge fan of utilitarianism, unfortunately I don’t believe that these applications are going to work out for a long time even though in the present time they seem to be doing great. The problem lies in the reason why people consume.

Ok, in the first place they consume to survive. But we can see that in today’s products only a marginal component of the price is related to the actual ingredients that compose the product. Almost all the price is given because of the status that the product gives you. That’s why a great number of companies spend millions of dollars on advertising, an advertising that gives us nothing related to the ingredients but they give us a lot of images that tend to make us feel good if we consume this product. So I believe that the consumption is done mainly to show off that we can afford to consume these expensive products and by this we show off ourselves.

There is a book by my favourite author Thorstein Veblen called “The Theory of the Leisure Class”. In this book he treats the concept of “conspicuous consumption”. Basically, it’s the idea that I was talking about before, i.e. that people spend just to show that they are able to buy very expensive products. He gives some examples to illustrate his view as well. For example, he maintains that in the aristocratic period, it was a perfect time to see this “conspicuous consumption”. He claims that some of the usages of that time are hunting us in the present times as well. So for example there was a tendency at that time to make a lot of parties and to keep a huge amount of servants in the house. This was done for no utilitarian or practical concept, it was done only to show that the owner of the mansion could afford to maintain so great a number of labourers and in this way he gained a lot of status in the eyes of his neighbours.

What is mine is yours (S.K.)

The title of the book reminded me of the times in college. When some friends wanted to go out on dates they always kept borrowing shirts, scarfs, jackets shoes from their friends in order to impress the girls more :)
I remember to be seeing some of them to be going out very nicely dressed but none of the clothes they were wearing was actually theirs. The same would happen the other day when somebody else wanted to go out on a date. This of course is a fine example of collaborative consumption :)
Generally speaking I am totally thrilled and amazed by the idea since I think it is an essential factor to enhance the making of big leaps forward. And the finest representatives of collaborative consumption are the open source processes like Wikipedia, 7-Zip, Mozilla Firefox, Linux, Python, MediaWiki, Moodle, WordPress etc. etc. Many many people have spent their precious time and energy in trying to give a hand in creating these very helpful tools and softwares and the irony is that most of them wouldn't have done so if they were paid to do it. A very important aspect of human nature is exploited in making collaborative consumption so successful and that is "Doing something because you like it"

The Time Paradox (S.K.)

First of all I'd like to thank professor for accepting my suggestion and including 'The Time Paradox' in this semester's book list. Secondly I'd like to talk a bit about the optimal profile on time perspectives that Zimbaro mentions in the book.

To have a successful life:

1- People should be high on Past Positivity. It gives them roots.
2-People should be moderately high on future orientation. It gives them wings
3- People should be moderate on present hedonism. It gives them energy
4- People should be as low as possible on present fatalism and on past negativity. Nothing good comes from them.
5-irrespective of what their transcendental future time perspective looks like.

Now this seems a bit like counter intuitive because if you want to be successful you need to be very high on future orientation but Zimbardo claims the opposite. Focusing too much on the future makes you sacrifice family time, friend time, personal indulgences, hobbies and sleep. These altogether provide an obstacle for having a successful life.

Many of life's puzzles can be solved by understanding your time perspective and those of others.
The idea is so simple, so obvious but its consequences are very profound. (Philip Zimbardo)

Born entrepreneurs

Seed of a vegetable is very important but the circumstances that seed will grow in has as much importance as the seed like climate,weather,water,sun....That is why a person may have a qualitative genes but must grow in an effective atmosphere.Steve jobs doesn't have university diploma but had a courage and love for his work. And many of them didn't have enough education of certificate but love for the their jobs.My personal idea both are very important but the inspiration that appears naturally should be the result of these both elements. In that case one entrepreneur can be successful.Cultivation will be in high quality.

Borrowing brilliance

Right words and right definition is "Borrowing brilliance"for the nature of the life.Without having any example or clue how a human being is going to find different style and different ideas. What if we were created on an empty sheet? What would we do?We dont eat, watch, analyze, just live like a plant. In nature, the creator gave us mind to think and find the correlation between the created environment and new ideas.Even the history of any invention gives us the main process of a machine how it was invented and how developed like computers, cars,tv and many others. Many of them were inspired from animals like plane.

Even in our global marketing area which is our world wont be as big as possible if new ideas were driven from old ideas.Inspiration is excellent by using the given mind.

Invitation for co operation

It is very useful idea for all the people and I think we can find a lot of application in our societies for this idea
I saw one of this applications now in egypt that’s called (sharing of beach home) , after they study this case they found that many people can share buy a flat to use it for one or two weeks maximum yearly , so they tray to share 6-8 family in this flat , every one can take 1-2 weeks every summer , they enjoy in the summer and in the same time they save 1/4 of the price of flat .

This idea is good because it is open the mind to think how we find the benefit together , some of our friends found the school bus fees are very expensive so , they decided together to send the kids every day by one of there cars , they send there kids and save a money also.
If we'll think for all the society we can arrange every day to move by one car with four passenger , not four passenger with four cars , this will save money , it is way to be less crowd at roads , consider the enviroment

Anakin who?

About the film

I am talking about Starwars of course. It was overall a good film, starting in high levels of casting and special effects, but somehow, unexplainably in the 3-rd episode up to 6-th became worse reaching sometimes the mediocre level like in the third episode.
This different standart may have derived by the time film was produced, maybe was not produced in chronological order like it was shown in cinema. Maybe because the original producer George Lucas was gone. This changing of producer may have altered the standarts.

Episodes

The first episodes were the most exited and it would have been nice to end the film in "old style". Six episodes are too much to keep the same interest alive. Maybe three or four would have been better.
Nevertheless, there were many questions and debates the world has known since its creation, told in a very original way. Seen in perspective the people, or all conscious life forms for that matter, will continue to have the same problems with the same solutions as in first humans, see the story of Cain and Able. It is the same story through the medioeval up to our times. And most probably this is going to continue this way.

The main subject or the idea behind the story is the well-known debate: "Good Vs. Evil". Being a film, an American film, there is no doubt who is going to win at the end, the good. Which is a good thing itself because nobody would like a sad ending, even the bad ones. I support this idea with a part of the film when the dark lord or the chancelor was about to take over the Galactic Republic and clear his enemies being the Jedi order, says: -"...and we finally are going to have peace...". So even a bad twisted mind wants suprisingly peace at the end.

Choice or destiny

Another debate going on for thousands of years is the nature/nurture debate. Also in Starwars there is an evergoing debate over which one of the two is stronger and more likely to win at the end. Even a foresighted, enlightened, wise mind like Master Yoda's, could make the mistake of supporting too much the destiny theory. He was as knowledgeable and perceptive as only a Prophet of God could be, but he was incredibly wrong. I am talking of Anakin of course.
Anakin Who?
Anakin Skywalker, the man destined to be the chosen one, which he finally did become. What Yoda did not calculate was the power of choice. He had the extraordinary skills enabling him to be the coolest and strongest Jedi ever. He was handsome, and smart, brave and creative, all a princess could have ever wanted. Last but not least, he had Padme, the princess at the very definition of the word. Beautiful, intelligent, powerful, high class women she was. Nonetheless, there was still something strong enough to destruct all of this. His greed. He would not just appreciate this and would want more and more. There was this lord, evil lord who could see through his mind and deceive him to make him think the dark side could give him more force than the bright, jedi side.
He played the card of frightening Anakin to loose what he loved the most. And he loved Padme the most no doubt. While he thought he could save her by switching side, from good to bad, he got himself inevitably loosing Padme, which was the main reason for switching sides, and got to be a half man half robot for the rest of his life being stuck on the wrong side.

The Force

The force is something that has created everything, that is everywhere, and has the power to do everything. In my world it is named GOD, The Almighty!
So, even in the film the Force is something noone sees but if they think about everything at peace they will feel IT. The family is important as has been in all human history. Royal families, Prophet Familes, Artist families, or even Crime families such as Italian families. It means that there is something which runs deep in DNA chains which make a family have many things in common. In this case the Skywalker family, the show turns all around this family. Firstly Anakin, and then Luke and Leia, children of Anakin and Padme are at the very center of the film. The difference between father and son, Anakin and Luke, is that Anakin knew his real force and never got enough. While for Luke, he never realised his real potential until he met with his father. And a more important difference was the choice they made. Anakin, which I like most, made a wrong decision under some circumstances. Luke made another under other circumstances. Question is, would Luke do the same mistake as his father if he were in his father's circumstances? Probably yes, probably not.

The most exiting part is the last episode, where everyone expects a return to his original side, the Jedi side of Anakin. Once more a parent would give up everything, even his life or whatever he has constructed to protect his own child. Even if the parent is a bad one.

Conclusion

  1. The story of humans is repeated from time to time, history repeats itself.
  2. There is good and bad in all humans, which is part of our destiny. We may choose to hear the bad or the good feelings flowing in our soul or heart or mind. That eventually will become our FATE, not necessarily the fate of our decendants. The other way around is more unlikely to happen, may still happen while alive. As in the case of Luke who helped his Father to change his destiny.
  3. The family is a very important and valuable resource in our life.
  4. Anyone can change with time.
  5. Never underestimate your potential.
  6. "Everyone is necessarily the hero of his own life story."
    John Barth

Little Bets

“Most successful entrepreneurs don’t begin with brilliant ideas –they discover them” is an important message of the book written by Peter Sims. Little Bets really provides remarkable benefits about innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. It shows that we can make a lot of little bets to have as a result a great outcome. Specifically, a little bet is a way to take an affordable risk to discover, develop, and test an idea, according to the author. I also think that little bets are very useful to get to the right idea without making detailed planning. We live in circumstances that rapidly changing times can make us risk-averse, avoiding risk. I think big bets are done by people that wants to attain in immediate way a high outcome level or benefits, by spending too much and risking more, but individual that makes little bets are focused around gradual improvement and constant innovation. Little Bets have given a positive feedback based on strategic and business innovators such as — architect Frank Gehry, Twitter founders Evan Williams and Jack Dorsey, musician John Legend, Apple CEO Steve Jobs, companies like Pixar, Google, General Motors and many other ones, that have done learning while doing mistakes, by identifying new opportunities and building up great outcomes so that they could hit narrow targets in order to hope in one big bet. The book is very interesting and as a conclusion i can say that nothing has started with a big idea...

Borrowing brilliance

It seems to be that this book and “Little bets” are turning in the same axis and the fulcrum of the topic is based on the “borrowing brilliance”. I would like to comment on the same idea that all those great innovators of nowadays they have borrowed the brilliance form the live examples of the nature. In fact they are not the creators but the developers of the Original Idea that has Created the universe. It seems that this is an idea accepted by the majority.

In another point of view taking it with a bit of humour, it sounds ridiculous that those innovators may claim “the intellectual property” or copy right for what is called as “their invention”. As a matter of fact they claim for what has been copy and developed of a copy. This is more obvious with regard to the controversial process of cloning which some call as a new creation and in fact is nothing more than “borrowing brilliance”.

Born Entrepreneurs

What the author is stating is completely true and the question in discussion is; are the entrepreneurs born or made? My opinion is that one does not have to be a "born entrepreneur" to succeed, but it certainly helps. Native tendencies seem to make certain people more likely to take risks, more able to identify and act on promising business opportunities, and more open to new experiences.

At the same time the practice has shown that some of the most successful businessman does not have a diploma at all in the field that they have been worldwide recognised and developed their business. Finally, the expression “He is born for that...” for sure is based on reality.

THE TIME PARADOX

I totally agree with the expression mentioned in the book that time is our most valuable possession because although time is money, money is not always time. The book talks about how we can measure time, how we look at time and how we can get help. According to the author people are excessively focused on the future getting to much time into little time. The paradox of time is the fact that people say if I have more free time I would spend it with the family, or with friends. Based on the research done by authors if our next day will be free again only 30 percent have said that would pass the free time with family and 9% percent with friend this is called time crunch. Based on the book people are becoming more time pressed and people are spending more time on money, time saving devices, and time saving services. Our scarcest resource time is much more valuable than money.

In time paradox there are 6 ways people approach the time: past-negative, present-hedonistic, future, past-positive, and present-fatalistic. Understanding the role of time in investment can lead to wiser financial decisions when one person wants to plan for the future, but this does not mean that these book tell us how to manage our decision only in money aspect but it talks about how people can manage time in order to spend it in effective way and not to be a time pressed person but making time work for us because time plays an important role in everybody’s happiness.

THE TIME PARADOX

Definition of time differs from people to people. For some it is past, for some it is future or right now. When we come closer to our old friends we remember past and try to satisfy our feelings and how we spent it nicer than how ever.At the end we say we were very small and being small was better because we were tasting the enjoy and sharing many things.

For some, actually for the young people talk about the future because they have enough time , power and dream.Generalizing for all young wont be true because there are many, did the third weddings and dreaming for new house, visiting for different places of the world.

Last type of people in perception of time is like many scholars said;live now you cant return past and you dont have any guaranty for the future so live now. This is the thing that like most.Live now.Not for future, don't be regretful with the past.

Ismail Kirci

The How of Happiness

In this book ,the author tries to summarize the key element of the happiness but not much talk about the cases that people face in daily life.We can try to apply them but psychology and sensitiveness of every people wont be the same.Character of people will determine the responds of them for events even if we try to apply these rules.I mean we try but not fully apply them .Perception that is directly related to character is the main point that we can try to change.

Another thing people are forgetful not always remember or can think any time.In an accident time, you lost your very close friend.People they are in shock not remember the perceptions.Right?

Restricting the wants from life is another case. How cant I want them?"This is in nature"I want them. This is in my instinct.

As a conclusion,The ideas to be happy are very good but application is another issue.

Ismail Kirci

What is Mine is Yours

We live in a world, which is difficult to handle alone. No one can be happy or get what he/she wants without being in contact with other people. Our life is built in some bases hat should be very strong and should resist time. None of our achievements would have been reached without the collaboration or without sharing our ideas, properties, thoughts or experience. There are many different systems that make us share all we have or all we are. Nothing can be a secret nowadays. Sooner or later everything will be heard, seen, touched or felt. No matter where we are from, no matter how far we are, no matter what differences we have or what success we have achieved, no matter how long we will live, there will always be something that will give every answer to us. Nothing can be hidden from the world. We live every minute in planet earth, we follow every rule that others have arranged, but we don’t understand how much we share our everything.

It is strange and interesting that we think of every stupid thing, but when it comes to think of important things we don’t give attention at all. But when we lose our ability to share our things with others or when we can’t take anything that isn’t ours, we feel the importance of living in an organized world, where everything is shared and well-known by everyone.

No matter what has happened, no matter what will happen, no matter what is happening right now, there will always be a demand of everything unless it is not ours. What was theirs will be ours, what is ours is mine and what’s mine is yours.

Little Bets

It is true that the greatest discoveries of all time have originated from small bets, small ideas, small experiments which later turned out to be genius. The research conducted by the author was based on deep and extensive research, including more than 200 interviews with leading innovators.

Starting from Da Vinci, Newton with his famous apple and going to the late Steve Jobs, all have been inspired by small things which led to the development of great theories, discoveries and inventions. What all the innovators have in common is a very developed sense of observation linking it with their plan or idea and finalising it with an invention.

In some passage of the books, I found the word “creative work” or “creative block”. Without depreciating at all the inventions I do not really think that they created but “borrowed” the idea of the initial creation. Starting from the invention of the wheel, going to the airplanes and recent cutting edge technology, all has been prompted by the universal creation.

The How of Happiness

The book is really great with regard to the activities, formulas and all other guidelines it advices to enjoy a happy life. Sometimes it is necessary to face the issues and troubles of life by taking the others advices. Your life and problems are your game, and when you are in you cannot judge and direct with a cool mind and certainly take the decisions in the best way possible. In this point, you need an “outside adviser”, someone who is out of your game of life.

What is really to appreciate stands on the point that the book tries to influence in the changing of the character of someone, but is this really possible? Well, it could be. Considering the fact that human beings need to change and the main part of the struggle to change, the best way to do it, is to begin from your own self by expressing gratitude, cultivating optimism, avoiding over thinking and following other advices as shown by the author.

The final question is; can you really reach happiness by following up the suggestions of the book? Not so sure about this. In my opinion, the book is very digestive by reading it but the best way could be to find the how and the way of happiness in the rules and laws of what you believe and love most.

The Time Paradox

People can have 3 "time perspectives"; they can be past-oriented, present oriented, or future-oriented. Based on their time orientation people behave differently. It is a conclusion based on research done by the authors of the book.

I fully agree with one of the conclusions of the book “People spend time less wisely than money”. While reading some of the passages of the book I reminded an old proverb: “Time is like a sword; if you don't cut it, it will end up cutting you”. All principles and advices given by the authors to manage and save time are quite good and acceptable but the only issue discussable is for what purpose should the time be used more; work, family life, social life, entertainment or dealing with what you call developing personal values and beliefs like religion etc.

For many scholars there are two types of people; those who live to work and the others who work to live. For each category time has a different perception and it all depends on what you prioritise. So, in my opinion it does not matter so much how are you oriented but it all depends what you put first in the list of priorities and regulate the time based on that.

What is Mine is Yours

The book deals with three rising models of Collaborative Consumption: Product Service Systems, Communal Economies, and Redistribution Markets.

Collaborative Consumption has started as a trend and despite that fact that different companies now are using internet to sell the products, it seems to be an interesting enterprise. The book describes how people are coming together using worldwide networks such as Freecycle and EBay.

It is true that this new trend is bringing people together and the so called shopping is becoming more practical and faster through internet. It is also true that old items may be sold through internet and not lost in the warehouses. Nevertheless this new trend is successful for some companies and not that much for the others.

The only thing that I would like to criticise about this new practice is the fact that the old way of shopping is losing. The feeling of looking at the goods directly, touching them and even bargaining is inexistent. It is understandable to buy something so called cutting edge but it is not really functioning for old stuff or antiquities.

Finally I would like to say that by using cutting edge technology and worldwide networks its nonsense to buy old items.

What is mine is yours

Referring to Rachel Botsman book the Collaborative Consumption is transforming business model by providing services and goods to people wherever and whenever they need them, at a price they can afford, and allow businesses and individuals to profit, so that they can not feel scarcity problem. Such new concepts of trading like eBay and Craig lists, peer-to-peer travel (Airbnb), social lending Zopa, Swap trading and car sharing Zipcar are really enormous marketplaces that are shaping up outdated modes of businesses. But I think that the collaborative lifestyle is depended on the trust that consumers have to each other that nowadays is related directly with the social and economic development of the country where this businesses or individuals are placed.
The Idea of Rachel Botsman is considered “One of the 10 ideas that will change the world” referring to an article of Bryan Wallsh:” Sharing and renting more stuff means producing and wasting less stuff, which is good for the planet and even better for one's self-image". If we refer to Albania, it is a country that in the aspect of Collaborative Lifestyles “Don't Own Share” leaves much to be desired…Hope that this innovative spirit of collaborative consumption will be part of our living style too.

What's mine is yours

Collaborative consumption gives the chances to become "micropreneurs" says Rachel Botsman.
Nowadays, technology enables us to earn money from our time, skills and possessions.
I wouldn't believe if somebody told me that I will transfer money to people I don't know, who aren't even trading under their own names. but today's statistics are showing that every second $2.000 is being traded by eBay and the most important is satisfaction rates are high.
Sharing physical goods actually provide the ability to rebuild the trust which is being degrading over recent decades.

Mustafa Kucukaytekin

What is Mine is Yours

As we can easily notice we are living in a society that is put under the pressure of sharing things, like transportation, places, information etc. The rise of Social Media has made it much simpler for us to share almost all our private life with everyone. Now, people twitting every second of their marriage process in the church do not bother us anymore. I guess every day more we are turning to an all-sharing society. And it seems that this trend is going to keep on enlarging in the future. In an interesting article Lisa Gansky wrote in Forbes she argues that ‘fewer and fewer people will own cars, appliances and homes, opting instead for shared access to transportation, entertainment and shelter’ which I mostly agree even though I wouldn’t generalize it so much but limit it to the consumers belonging to individualistic societies like western Europe, USA, Australia etc. Nowadays there are several companies that already offer customers convenient shared access to goods and services such as movies, cars, consumer products, investments and bikes. Gansky furthermore implies that ‘as more companies and individuals discover the ease and economy of services like these, they will begin shedding the expenses and hassles associated with ownership’, which totally complies with the economic goals of people and companies to find more efficient means and ways of conducting business and life. In a business field characterized by sharing we would notice that former competitors find surprising advantages in joining together to share what was once proprietary data and in some cases create new products together.

What's mine is yours.

I have thought many times to be picked up by someone who has enough space in his car when i was waiting for the bus.I may have given some money to him for his service and he wont get any less from his pocket.Actually sharing is fun and gives more ideas, time and money....Maybe in this way we can extend our life by not working to buy a car, house, electrical machines and so many things. And even decreases number of the effects of the capitalism and slaves of it.

Some people may think."IIIIIIIIIIIII ! I cant share my personal things or I cant use the same with other people. It is better to have one for myself but what about the skills and ideas".People are social livings. There is no a lot of people living alone on mountains at all.Our global village cheered up with internet and tv.Every day we use facebooks, tweeters and so on.My personal idea is to share not everything but as much as possible to extend our life and to make more fun.
