Anakin who?

About the film

I am talking about Starwars of course. It was overall a good film, starting in high levels of casting and special effects, but somehow, unexplainably in the 3-rd episode up to 6-th became worse reaching sometimes the mediocre level like in the third episode.
This different standart may have derived by the time film was produced, maybe was not produced in chronological order like it was shown in cinema. Maybe because the original producer George Lucas was gone. This changing of producer may have altered the standarts.

Episodes

The first episodes were the most exited and it would have been nice to end the film in "old style". Six episodes are too much to keep the same interest alive. Maybe three or four would have been better.
Nevertheless, there were many questions and debates the world has known since its creation, told in a very original way. Seen in perspective the people, or all conscious life forms for that matter, will continue to have the same problems with the same solutions as in first humans, see the story of Cain and Able. It is the same story through the medioeval up to our times. And most probably this is going to continue this way.

The main subject or the idea behind the story is the well-known debate: "Good Vs. Evil". Being a film, an American film, there is no doubt who is going to win at the end, the good. Which is a good thing itself because nobody would like a sad ending, even the bad ones. I support this idea with a part of the film when the dark lord or the chancelor was about to take over the Galactic Republic and clear his enemies being the Jedi order, says: -"...and we finally are going to have peace...". So even a bad twisted mind wants suprisingly peace at the end.

Choice or destiny

Another debate going on for thousands of years is the nature/nurture debate. Also in Starwars there is an evergoing debate over which one of the two is stronger and more likely to win at the end. Even a foresighted, enlightened, wise mind like Master Yoda's, could make the mistake of supporting too much the destiny theory. He was as knowledgeable and perceptive as only a Prophet of God could be, but he was incredibly wrong. I am talking of Anakin of course.
Anakin Who?
Anakin Skywalker, the man destined to be the chosen one, which he finally did become. What Yoda did not calculate was the power of choice. He had the extraordinary skills enabling him to be the coolest and strongest Jedi ever. He was handsome, and smart, brave and creative, all a princess could have ever wanted. Last but not least, he had Padme, the princess at the very definition of the word. Beautiful, intelligent, powerful, high class women she was. Nonetheless, there was still something strong enough to destruct all of this. His greed. He would not just appreciate this and would want more and more. There was this lord, evil lord who could see through his mind and deceive him to make him think the dark side could give him more force than the bright, jedi side.
He played the card of frightening Anakin to loose what he loved the most. And he loved Padme the most no doubt. While he thought he could save her by switching side, from good to bad, he got himself inevitably loosing Padme, which was the main reason for switching sides, and got to be a half man half robot for the rest of his life being stuck on the wrong side.

The Force

The force is something that has created everything, that is everywhere, and has the power to do everything. In my world it is named GOD, The Almighty!
So, even in the film the Force is something noone sees but if they think about everything at peace they will feel IT. The family is important as has been in all human history. Royal families, Prophet Familes, Artist families, or even Crime families such as Italian families. It means that there is something which runs deep in DNA chains which make a family have many things in common. In this case the Skywalker family, the show turns all around this family. Firstly Anakin, and then Luke and Leia, children of Anakin and Padme are at the very center of the film. The difference between father and son, Anakin and Luke, is that Anakin knew his real force and never got enough. While for Luke, he never realised his real potential until he met with his father. And a more important difference was the choice they made. Anakin, which I like most, made a wrong decision under some circumstances. Luke made another under other circumstances. Question is, would Luke do the same mistake as his father if he were in his father's circumstances? Probably yes, probably not.

The most exiting part is the last episode, where everyone expects a return to his original side, the Jedi side of Anakin. Once more a parent would give up everything, even his life or whatever he has constructed to protect his own child. Even if the parent is a bad one.

Conclusion

  1. The story of humans is repeated from time to time, history repeats itself.
  2. There is good and bad in all humans, which is part of our destiny. We may choose to hear the bad or the good feelings flowing in our soul or heart or mind. That eventually will become our FATE, not necessarily the fate of our decendants. The other way around is more unlikely to happen, may still happen while alive. As in the case of Luke who helped his Father to change his destiny.
  3. The family is a very important and valuable resource in our life.
  4. Anyone can change with time.
  5. Never underestimate your potential.
  6. "Everyone is necessarily the hero of his own life story."
