Born Entrepreneurs, Born Leaders

During the lesson “Born Entrepreneurs, Born Leaders” the first person that came in my mind was Agron, the founder of BioFerma Rramilli ’04.

Now he owns some different businesses but the first profession in his life was tailor. In ’80 he started to work as tailor and he has been too talented in his profession. In that time Albania was in the last years of communism but again it was not permitted to have your own business but some small handicraft professions people used to do in their homes. This was the case of Agron. He worked in his home in a Village near of Shijak. He was very successful and the number of his clients from cities Durres and Tirana in that time increased day by day. He started to think how to increase the activity in order to earn more and more money. But he has no capital; no high quality equipment and the only resource that he could used in that time were human recourses. Leaving in a numerous family he started to teach  some of his brothers  and sisters different processes in tailoring. In this way he created a kind of small sewing department and had possibility to accept more and more orders from his clients and in this way he increased family earnings. In that time Agron understood that the purchase power was not in his village, was not in small town as Shijak, but in big cities like Durres and Tirana. So when he created his own family in ’90 he moved to live in Tirana. He continued tailoring meantime he worked in some different fabrics in order to understand the other opportunities that he may have.

In Albania was time of transition in politic area but also in the economic area. It was time when different foreign companies were interested to sell their products in Albania because of higher consumer demand and the lack of Albanian production. Tirana was the biggest city in Albania not for the surface but for the number of its population and in that time was a higher demand for houses and new buildings.

Agron understood this and he started to sell building materials as a retailer. He used his accumulated earning to buy a quantity of building materials and was able to sell that quantity in one week.

In that time this was a dream because with revenues  he was able to buy twice .And day by day he increased the sales and month by month his business turn from small business to big business.

For 10 years his business became one of the big businesses as distributor for building materials. He became reach people. But as everybody has a dream also he had a dream that he could own a small private farm that would be a model for the others perhaps it has been a dreaming farm when he has been little boy. This time for sure he had capital, but also he had opportunity to have a look to the farms in some different countries in Europe and other places in the world. He wanted to have the best model for his old and big family. And this is the start of the history of Bioferma Rremili ’04.
