Through a series of case studies, the author demonstrates the case for using group power to change communities and neighbourhoods and thus the world. From problems as serious as AIDS, alcoholism and recidivism to loneliness and weight loss, groups can solve the problems created by the decline in community that the modern age has brought, and can be used to change both personal and political behaviour. There is value for personal wellbeing in belonging to a community and that too is a worthy goal.

I agree Korhan but I think that it is the community which should be sensible to to this activities. As I mention in other comments today it is made very difficult of each of us to follow such activities. So if we want to change for a better world I think the change should start from us. When to start , I really dont know?
YanıtlaSilNormally everyone should start from him/herself, but i do not think that this denies us from "joining the club". Most things are easier when done in "clubs", and i guess being in groups makes you more willingly to do things than staying all alone.
SilI agree Korhan "There is value for personal wellbeing in belonging to a community and that too is a worthy goal."
YanıtlaSilJoin the club but we must be sure whether we are choosing the right club or not. We must be influenced by the right people who do right things.

Erald, just read carefully the club rules before entering and see if there are any small written lines which state that once entered, you can not leave the club (i.e. Facebook). If no such lines, you must try each club, till you find the right one for you.
SilHi Ermelinda, i agree with you that today is difficult to join communities maybe physically but we can push positive changes through facebook and twitter too. So there is possibility to take part in initiatives and apply peer pressure just in different methods, but still we achieve results. We all remember the role of facebook and twitter in developments in East this summer.
