Tina Rosenberg in her book “Join the Club: How Peer Pressure Can Transform the World. What i understood from this book was that all the people belong to a group of peole who share the same ideas, same thoughts and etc. by combining these thoughts togethet and by influencing the each other they can make a big change of the world. People must be a part of one specific group. they should not be alone. The important thing of joining the club is to join the right club.
To join the club you belong is very difficult sometimes. it happens because of the peer pressure. On my personal opinion teenagers nowadays are joining the wrong club. In order to feel matured they start smoking, gambling alcohol etc in a very yang age. Once you ask them why do you smoke most of the answers are: my father also does, all of my friends do, etc. In the business area if you join the right club the probability of being successful is very high. Prophet Mohamed SWS says: if you stay with the smith you are going to smell like him, if you stay with a perfume seller you are going to smell perfume.

I agree with the fact of teenagers are joins the wrong clubs, which will affect in their life or maybe will affect only for a short period of time resulting to be part of big changes in the world or just be spectators.
YanıtlaSilI think the good part of this book is that it talkes about positive effects of peer presure. So we need to look beyond the wrong clubs. People also join environmental organizations, NGOs, facebook movements and try to push for positive changes.
YanıtlaSilThe book pushes the readers to think about the positive aspects of living in a society that we can also take help from the others when we need.
YanıtlaSilI think the good part of this book is that it speaks for something we forget the positive power of peer pressure. We shouln't stick to examples of negative behaviour. We also see people joining environmental organizations, NGOs, facebook initiatives and so on in order to push towards positive changes. So is very useful to think about that and apply it in our lives.
