Rush

The book emphasis examples of research claiming to show that people who work for what they get are more satisfied. People like to compete because they like to win. Competitive instincts are fixed in human genes, and to the extent that competition drives uswonderful things which makes us happy. We compete for rewards. Competition generate innovation; innovation means progress. Rush is a thought-provoking book, I really find it interesting to read it because of its insights and intuitions that are neurobiological based. Buchholz believes that there is an important connection between competition and happiness. Buchholz believes that happiness can be as a result of rushing. He says: "We feel better chasing the tails, even if we never catch. The hunt makes us happier." Which I do not agree .

But unfortunately rat race seems to shape the economy and helps people to feel better. To compete with each other instead of helping each other . Stress seems to be good rat racing people, and retiring make them feel stupid. Although Buchholz's book is compelling, I can't totally agree with it. I also believe that people need peace to be happy, and not to be time pressed one with the stress of having power and wealth.
