Little bets...
Try with a little and you may get more, even if you
lose its “little” which means better than not to try at all. As the expression
says “If you have
the will to win, you have achieved half your success; if you don’t, you have
achieved half your failure”. Also In
this case betting with little bets means you have the will to go toward
victory, but nothing great is ever achieved with any frailer. As it is said no
experts or professional is done immediately without previously being a amateur
and being amateur means trying hard with little bets until you find yourself
achieve great things.
What’s the main idea of little bets? Little Bets is built
on the premise that genius insights don’t spring into people’s minds fully
formed. They emerge through a rigorous experimental discovery process. Sims’
theory is that taking small, methodical steps, failing often, embracing failure
and then making necessary corrections has allowed successful individuals and
organizations to reap unintended windfalls and achieve extraordinary outcomes. One advantage
of making small bets is that you learn to cope with failures and to take
lessons from them. Continual failure is essential for success, but only in the
right environment. Factors that contribute include honest assessment of
results, fearless and open experimentation, and a playful attitude to ideas.
The best real example that we lived was the
exercise we did in the class which makes clear the theory of Sims.
You are right in your point that new ideas and products emerge through a rigorous experimental discovery process.

YanıtlaSilI agree Oneda,,, being an amateur is the beginning, and without it you cannot become an expert. We have seen a lot of cases like the one I am going to present, that three family members being amateurs started a new business in the food processing and now they are leaders in this field, that’s all because they took some “great little steps”…
