Born Entrepreneurs, Born Leaders

“Born Entrepreneurs, Born Leaders”, introduces some very interesting ideas about our genes and their relation with our career choices and others. People have always implied, that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and this book seems confirming this feeling. It discusses how genes influence work interests, work values, decision making, risk taking, management style, approach to leadership, creativity, entrepreneurship, and work performance, among other aspects of work life.
But anyway, according to Scott Shane one third of the differences between people are genetic. That still leaves nearly two-thirds of the difference to be accounted for by environmental forces. Just because this book focuses on the ways that genes impact how we act at work doesn’t mean that the environment lacks influence. The reality is that, for most things about us, genetic and environmental factors both matter.
But anyway, staying in this one-third part, the book is a very interesting one as it goes deep into the role that genetics plays in creativity and innovation, and focuses on how genes affect our tendency to start companies. Armed with these insights, we will not only learn how to force our inborn skills and personality, but we may discover how to succeed by acting in ways contrary to our "nature."

i'm agree with you if we say every thing depended from genes we couldn't do anything but if we think it will effect for only one-third and we will give the environmental factors and life experiences two-third , i think we can balance the situation and we can see to the future wit optimist eye

  2. Yes it is true. All is related to genes and the fact the people are born to do something or people are born gifted for a proper profile. On the other hand, a talented person who does not have the will to develop it, certainly will lose and as a great writer has said: " Most talents lose by doing nothing". The people of the example are not only talented but even hard workers and have achieved the most of their business.

  3. It is right to say that it is related with the genes, but the evolution has shown us also that things changes and the human instinct sometimes evolves more than the one of the nature. Genes play a vital role in the personality profile of a person but not always.
