BORROWING BRILLIANCE E.N

The “Borrowing Brilliance: The Six Steps to Business Innovation by Building on the Ideas of Others”, is an extraordinary book when his author Dave Murray claimed that the brilliance is borrowed. As Dave described in his book that all the most of important innovation has been borrowed the idea by the other. As Einstein has said “The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources”. He described that exists six steps of this process 1)Defining the problem,2)Borrowing,3)Combining, 4)Incubating, 5)Judging and 6)Enhancing .

It is a very interesting idea which focused all of us to gather the ideas around us. Sometimes we think that for being very successful we should create our own idea. But following the instruction that the book gives to understand was that we are free to catch the idea of the others and make them ours. It doesn’t mean that we just copy the idea and show to the others without working with it, then this it will be called “stolen idea”. Based to our nature we all can use the common sources but the difference is how you treat them. The way which makes some of people good Entrepreneurs is because they can read between the lines to define the problem and served in the end like a great idea.

  1. I also enjoyed a lot this book. I agree that an entrepreneurs can use the others ideas by changing, combining, giving them a shape that in it will be unique again although is based in different sources of ideas.May be the person who has used the others ideas can achieve better results.
