The everlasting dispute about who is really shaping your life, and thoughts, and character, and job, and....
In Scott Shane's book we find a very important issue that affects our live in so many ways. There have been many studies trying to figure out if the genes are "commanding" our thoughts, and lives. In some nature is stronger, in some others, genes affect almost everything.
I agree with the author that almost 1/3 of our actins can be explained by the genes, even though I think the numerical part or measurement need further discussion. There is also something that should not be overlooked. The individuality, there is no one model for all the people, all the people have a different story of their life. Whether it is affected by the genes or the nature, no one's life is equal to an other's.
The truth is that every person has a combination of the two variables that is impossible to make a simple questionare and find out what affected him/her most in the last 30 years. That is why no study can ever be 100% accurate in giving a real answer.
In a home where father and mother have a formal education in economics, most probably the child is going to be an economist.
So this is clearly nurture.........or nature...?!
