THE HOW OF HAPPINESS E.N


The psychologist described happiness as well-being or satisfaction with our life. They tell that exist “fun without meaning” (exp foot massageJ) and “meaning without fun” (exp feeding process) and the happiness comes as combination of both them. As you for example try to choose the first one you have fun but you will empty inside.

It exist many theory (as this above) or research which talk about happiness and the steps that we should follow to be happy. Sonja LyoBomirsky has told us that 50% of happiness comes from our genes, 40 % comes from internal activities and 10% from life circumstances. Even in this book or other article that I have read in the internet they speaks about the “recipes” that each of us should follow for being happy.

So for example for being happy:

1. Don’t try to buy happiness àDifferent researcher has found out that all the people who was poor and like their goals they had to be rich they was less happy related to family , job and the friendship.

2. Switch the gearà Usually people try to find motivation to increase their happiness like new hobbies, new goals or even to change their job or following their dreams

3. Loosing yourself in the momentàIf we are in bad mood we should try to find our “flow”. We should do any activity which energizes us.

4. Help yourself by helping othersàThe philosopher John Stuard Mills said” those only are happy who have their minds fixed on some object other than their own happiness; on the happiness of others”

5. Choose to choose lessàThose who search until they found the best position where less happy that who has choose to took the first good one

6. Be more forgiving..

7. Share love..

8. Pick up the positives

9. Introduce your body to your mind, etc.

As you will see from the list above there are steps which every of us should be follow. But does somebody remember all of them? I don’t think so. The happiness it is not a diet receipt which you should follow until you loosing the wait. What I totally agree with this theory is that we should catch the moment and leave it at it is the last one (also this depend from the life circumstances). Sometimes the money makes us happy. What I suggest is that the money shouldn’t be the main goal of our happiness. We should happiness as a puzzle when we should put each day the pieces one by one. Which is the most important to share our happiness with somebody otherwise we never will fill 100% happy.

  1. It is completely true the fact that you can never feel or be happy alone. In my opinion the happiness stands mostly in altruism and it is of crucial importance to share the happiness with someone else. In fact it is doubled and according to some people they have found happiness in making the others happy.

Happiness doesn't have price - For some people happiness is linked with money more money they have more happy they are, but some other are happy being alive, or some others are happy to have a wonderful family ,..und some others joing the happiness of others. Happiness is relative and diffferent depending on the different moments of our life.

I think that the steps given above in your comment should not be taken as some theoretical ones, i think that if we try to apply them in our daily life they would be very useful to us of course not providing us a happiness in its maximum level ,then this book is simply an assessment of the things that makes humankind happy.

  4. Actually i don't know if money makes us happy, but sure it can provide for many things that make us happy. Money can give us better education, access to sports training, facilities, friends, beter medical care, better vacations and so on. So i'm not sure if i agree with the author at this point. Nevertheless i belive we shouldn't be fixated and run all our lifes towards money, money itself shouldn't be the only goal. Life is more complex than that and we need to invest our time in friends, family and neigbours and get joy from these relationships too.
