Little Bets (S.K.)

I agree with the basic principle of the book. The most abundant type of learning humans make is through trying. One has high probability to fail if he aims high since the beginning. If he tries to improve and to rise bit by bit instead, the odds will automatically increase.
Even when we go to the beach we seldom dive in since the first time. What we do instead is we dip the feet to check if the temperature is right then gradually the body and afterwards we dive.
The same is valid if we see a cute girl in the bar. We don't take the big bet i.e. proposing her directly. We go on with the little bets first :)

One point that fascinated me was the analysis of the naturally lucky people. There were some very interesting secrets which people generally don't consider:
Lucky people don't believe in luck.
"Bad" stuff happens to them too.
More people quit than lose.
Most of their good luck comes through other people.
Good luck favors those who have prepared.

  1. Nice post Saimir, and nice samples of "little bets". I agree with you that people should not except the maximum since the beginning but instead they should try to reach it step by step.
