Are you busy enough?

Rush is probably the best book I read in this course without taking away anything in values in the other books. Rush is an all-involving book and the author has streched his views in many fields. As he is a professional economist, economy takes an important place throughout this book. It searches deep into psychology and human nature. It runs through political systems and exploits the consequences of believing and engaging in religious matters.

Todd Buchholz is a very good writer and his book is explaining things like happiness or personal achievements treated in a very practical way. The essence of the book as I understood is that happiness is not something neither born nor given in any sense. It is also not the things we achieve that will give us the spiritual and material wellbeeing we always pursue. It is this very rush behind our goals, and this everyday fighting and competing with others that is the essence of our wellbeing. This is the real happiness according to the author.

The father of Darwin said to him "You care for nothing but shooting, dogs and rat-catching, and you will be a disgrace to yourself and all your family". You can not tell him wrong, as wise as only a father can be..
Nevertheless, the point that it is important is that everybody has to live his actual life day by day and not to worry too much about the future nor the past. Because there is a saying of prophet Muhammad(pbuh):"Work like you will live 200 years, think of this and the other life like you will die tomorrow." Which is great in my opinion because if one were to follow this priciple and in accordance with what "Rush" is talking about, people should work hard but living a good life and without sorrows and regrets, as life is very short.

  1. I think that life is not measured by years, but from moments. If you are lucky to catch (live) some happier moments, well, my friend, worth living. It does not matter if you just become 117 years old...

PS: At your free time watch "Mr. Nobody" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0485947/)
