Disrupt

Disrupt
Disrupt is a book by Luke William
In five stages he gives us the ideas ( how can increase our work to be one of the best at the market )
1.The first stage is crafting a disruptive hypothesis.
To create our hypothesis about our point and ha says : ( Be wrong at the start to be right at the end.) and also he used this question
I wonder what would happen if we ……………………. .”
And the question changes: What would happen if we didn’t ………….
The second stage is discovering a disruptive opportunity.
Discovering a disruptive opportunity?
• What are your observation?
• What are your insights?
• What are your opportunities
The good example of apple's researchers
The third stage is generating a disruptive idea
Opportunity is not the idea; it is an empty space you can use; but you have to find out what you are going to put into this space; and that is the idea.
The Template for Disruptive Idea
• Label: What is it?
• User: Who is it?
• Benefit: What is the use of it?
• Method: How?
• Different: Really?

The fourth stage is shaping a disruptive solution.
• Collect the data about what do people really think
• Answer this question :which idea should you move forward?
• What can you do in this solution ?
The fifth stage is making a disruptive pitch.
Disruptive solutions are big problems to sell. Because they are disruptive. Before the customers the people in one company will be against a disruptive solution. Because as the disruptive solution means it is against tradition and clichés in one business. The author suggests preparing a nine minute pitch that take audience to a thought phase “Hey, this is a great idea! How do we implement it?” Williams’ book is one with which you can embrace different disruptive ideas.
1. The Status Quo (Printing needs and printers)
2. The Observations (ownership of a functional printer + paper)
3. The Story (what if no ink, no paper, no printer-great problem)
4. Tell them what they don’t know (there should be an alternative to printing)
5. Give them a turning point (the opportunity) (e-mail, txt messaging, sending a barcode)
6. Make it familliar (This is a DVD movie, far from theater, you can get it everywhere)
7. The Solution
8. Make change appealing (the advantages)
9. Live them on a high (the ethos) “Think out of socks” “Just do it”

  1. Disruptive ideas are good not only in business, but in many other areas. Let us take movies as an example. In most of the movies’ history the good guy at the end won. This was almost a cliché for every single movie. Afterwards, there were some movies where the bad guy won. I am sure that in the first occasions people were shocked. It is very hard for people to get used to disruptive ideas. After some time has passed though, people get used to them and even more they start to like them. After some other time has passed, these disruptive ideas become clichés themselves. I can no longer watch a movie where the good guy wins. 
