BORROWING BRILLIANCE

This is an interesting book by Dave Murray about innovation. What's interesting is that the author argues innovation can be borrowed and build on ideas of others.  According to the author “borrowed brilliance” can be achieved in  six steps:

1.      Problem Definitions
The objective of this step is to indentify, understand and describe the problem.
2.      Borrowing Materials
The objective of this step is to gather materials to solve the problem and borrow idea from cases with similar problem.
3.      Making Combinations
The objective of this step is to combine and connect things to solve the problem.
This is the solution step.
4.      Incubating
The objective of this step is use subconscious mind to help solve the problems.
5.      Judging
The objective of this step is to identify strengths and weaknesses of the solution so that adjustments can be made.
6.      Enhancing Your Ideas
The objective of this step is to make adjustments and improve the idea.
