Rush,

In base of our life is the desire for competition. Every single day is competition towards yourself. This is the main message, brought in a funny way by the author Todd Buchholz.

He says, and I don’t totally agree with it, that you don’t need to relax or go to vacation, because you will be happier to chase your tail-even.

I think that our society is based on competition, which evolves by day, but you have to have the guts in affording it and you will not be happier if you always compete with yourself.

Then author state that “We need the rat race because we’re biologically wired to move forward, not to sit around like a poached egg on toast”, and he is probably true, but you realize that you are in rat race when your read his book.

This book remind me a beautiful movie titled Forrest Gump, where the main character played by Tom Hanks, begun to run, without knowing why. At a certain point, he stops and says, “I’m Tired, I’m going home”

Comparing the book to this film, I can state that I don’t totally agree with it and his main message of rat race, although I liked reading it cause it was really fascinating learning his point of view about life.

The human being by nature is much demanded, we are never satisfied by what we have, and we want more and more and more.

The main message of the book to my opinion, is that the race bring you the rush and that’s why always you are in hurry, even if you never reached the finish line, even if you reached the finish line you will never understand that you have reached it, because it probably mean that you are dead.

  1. By the help of the technology life becomes faster. For the bussiness life this is true but not for everyone..Competion is the main factor that pulls us to get in a hurry.I strongly agree with this because we have feelings that I should not be behind of others.
