WHAT'S MINE IS YOURS

It is a great book and especially makes you think about the emptiness of consumerism. Why own something you don't need to use at all times? Why not rent it or share it? This book takes us back to good old values of sharing and collaborating but in a new contemporary way. Swapping, sharing, bartering, and renting  are examples of collaborative consumption. These things aren't new but today thanks to the latest internet technologies and peer-to-peer marketplaces they are happening on a larger scale then ever possible before. Especially in today's economic situation people can benefit more by if they change they put collaborative consumption in their life. I think this is beneficial for individuals and for businesses too in the economic and environmental side.  Collaborative consumption principles are believing in commons and trust, and that's why I think the rise of this movement is beneficial  for the whole society, it has an  positive impact in human behavior, it brings people more close and allows them to help and support one another.

  1. I was wondering that whether bartering goods and services would affect the character of people in order to be more sociable and not individualistic outside the materialistic perspective?
